Day of the Week - Monday

If you chose this card, you are working with an unseen guide or female angel.  This card represents many things we associate with the Moon, hidden knowledge, fluctuation, the unrevealed future.  This is the female manifestation of the highest knowledge.  It is a card of the muse for artists, poets, writers, and anyone who would work with creative forces.

The constellation of Cassiopeia is associated with the High Priestess in the Tarot by Oswald Wirth. "...the Priestess (Arcana 2) who is seated motionless and calm, impenetrable and priestly. She is the priestess of mystery, Isis, the goddess of deep night and without her help the human spirit could not penetrate the darkness. Her right hand holds half open the book of secrets which no one can take from her unless the Priestess gives him the keys which she holds in her left hand. Of these keys which open hidden aspects of things (Esotericism) one is gold and is related to the Sun, (Word, Reason) and the other silver, hence having an affinity with the Moon (Imagination, intuitive lucidity). That means that one must unite strict logic and sweet impressionability if one aspires to divine hidden things, the knowledge which Nature hides from a great number of us. The divination which the Priestess inspires, applies to the discernment of reality which hides behind the veil of what is apparent to our senses. The right foot of the Priestess rests on a cushion representing the very small quantity of positive ideas which we can acquire in the realm of mystery... This accessory, which is
sometimes neglected, figures on a Tarot published in Paris in 1500. It has its importance for it seems to be borrowed from Cassiopeia, the Queen of Ethiopia of the heavenly sphere, the black but beautiful sovereign, like the Beloved of the Song of Songs. "The Tarot of the Magicians". Oswald Wirth 1927 First published in Paris in 1927 under the original title Le Tarot, des Imagiers du Moyen Age.

If you chose this card, you may be dealing with your own intuition, or an inner guide that is leading you into a deeper understanding of how the Universe works at its core.  It may indicate that you need silence and solitude, despite the worldly losses that may bring to you.

In a reading it may indicate a knowledgeable woman who is the family or community wise woman.  It may be a woman who has accomplished a great deal in business or a career or who is highly educated.

If you are a man, it may indicate the woman of your dreams, a woman that you feel is a perfect manifestation of womanhood.  If you are a woman, you may be seen as this by a man.

You may be seeking guidance in your quest for knowledge to understand the deepest meaning of your relationship to the universal intelligence.  You may also need solitude to meditate and reflect on this knowledge.  You may also be in the state of developing your intuition, or having important experiences in dreams or visions.

In "Legend: The Arthurian Tarot" this card isbased on the legend of Nimue, one of the Priestesses of Avalon.
